History
Santa Catalina was discovered in the 1970s. It remained a secret spot for many years until 1980 when Surfing Magazine came and brought in famous California photographer Steve Bissell to do an article on the legendary secret surf spot.
Then, in 1990, along came Tom Curren and 10 of the world's best surfers to make a series of documentaries and magazine articles. As they say, the rest is history.
Here is a very good article in SURFLINE.

As you say, Catalina is very consistent. More than 80% swell constancy.

It's the perfect place to surf every day and escape the rat race.
While Hawaii has only 3 months of surfing season each winter, Catalina has 10 solid months a year of consistent swell. It is a true Surfers Paradise.

Santa Catalina Island is right in front of our site.
We have a tropical island all to ourselves, quite magical.
Today Catalina is still a quiet little village with many restaurants run by Italians and Europeans who simply fell in love with the place and stayed. They opened small restaurants and bars bringing with them the recipes of their grandmothers, it's all very bohemian and authentic.
It is an incredible place. It has waves the size of Hawaii in warm waters. A true paradise for surfers. Marlins and Roosterfish for the fisherman and big whale sharks and big islands and reefs for the divers.

Catalina Island is right in front of the property... 5 minutes by boat.
The peaceful village of Santa Catalina is rich in its natural splendor. It represents the true beauty of the natural world. Santa Catalina is a small fishing village with a small population where nature remains faithful.
Near Coiba National Marine Park - Hannibal Bank is recognized as one of the best Bill Fish fishing areas in the world. World records up to 1500 pounds.

The guest house has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and a terrace facing the sea.
The Point Guest House was built by the pioneers, so it has a lot of history and has been visited by all the top names in surfing since the 1970s. Mark Richards, Tom Curren, Gerry Lopez, Ian Cairns, Shane Dorian, Herbie Fletcher, Bonga Perkins, the list is long.
The place truly has a Hawaiian feel to it.

The Main House has 2 levels. One large king size bed and 3 singles in the loft. A kitchen, full bathroom, living room. A storage room, ocean front terrace and pool. A super view of the waves and islands.
The caretakers' house has a laundry room, a bathroom and two small rooms.
There are also 2 Delux Bungalows of 62m2 and the main pool.
It is all in front of the sea. Very quiet and private gated complex. The property has two gates and direct access to the "CHANEL".
The property also has a small creek and a small forest.
Plenty of room to grow. 1/3 of the property is a nature reserve.
You will not regret acquiring this jewel.
